PIPER LUCAS DESIGN

'In contemplating the long-nourished dream of building our home in Bend, we had a fairly good idea of what our vision was; a two-story straw bale structure, incorporating old world architecture. We'd tried to convey our ideas to a few architects in town and upon the renderings we received, we decided to defer the project for a year.  We were fortunate to encounter Piper who listened carefully and thoughtfully to our sensibilities, wish lists and asked meaningful questions.  I found her at dawn studying the light on our property and likewise at dusk.  She interviewed my three older children on their interests and ideas.  She even joined us on a busy school morning, studying how we operated as a family; eating, scurrying and even a raucous ride-along in the minivan, as I recall.  Her observations and thoughtful inquiries informed her design for our family.  We received beautiful hand drawn renderings of the graceful, warm, utterly customized dwelling we now happily call home.  We are delighted to have had the benefit and good fortune of Piper's intelligence and intuition in the design of our home and we are forever grateful for the light, space and warmth our family enjoys under it's eaves.'

Mission Statement:

Interpreting your dreams and creating a built reality. It is my mission to design a living space specifically for each one of my client's lifestyles and needs.  To design a space in which to best enjoy their environment and to enrich their life experiences through the built environment.  This is achieved through creating a place that is healthy to reside in, uses minimum energy and carbon offset to build, and integrates the structure within the landscape and urban context to reduce energy needs during occupation.  The design process helps to ensure that the final product will be a space that will elevate the individual’s existence, and create a conscious [and satisfied] inhabitant.
